Many people go on a low fat diet. Reasons include: trying to lose weight, preventing heart diseases and much more. Low fat diet does not have to be bland or all vegetables. It could be very delicious, yet healthy at the same time. Since this is a low fat diet, you are allowed to have some fat in your food, just not excessive amount. You also need to be aware of good fat and bad fat. Good fats include healthy oils such as olive oil and peanut oil which actually help your body to function. Examples of bad fat are all types of saturated and trans-fat. They clog your blog vessels, and often cause cancer and heart diseases.
To go on a low fat diet, you don’t have to give up your favourite foods. All you have to do is modify the recipe. For example, salads are extremely nutritious, but the salad dressing often contain bad fats and other processed ingredients. You can use olive oil and apple cider vinegar as the dressing instead. If you enjoy fried chicken, you can grill or barbeque it for similar flavour and texture.
To stick to your low fat diet, you have to set a goal. If you do stick to your diet all week, a little reward won’t hurt. Fat is an essential part of anyone’s diet, it’s only bad when you have an excessive amount. Remember, everything in moderation and you will be fine. The result will always be worth it, because you will remain healthy and lose weight.
